Graphic courtesy of Delco Times. The Delco Times reported yesterday that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is about to kick in $45 million for a new stadium deal in Chester. State legislators from the area, along with support from Governor Ed Rendell, helped persuade Harrisburg that this funding was needed. Along with funding from the county, the city of Chester, and private investors, there appears to be all the players on the field necessary to get a stadium on the waterfront.
At the Major League Soccer Draft several days ago, MLS Commissioner Don Garber said that Philly was a 'step ahead' of rival Saint Louis for getting that next team. This funding coup will certainly put Philadelphia leaps and bounds over the Gateway City.
And that's the triple-truth, Ruth!

This is just a heartless plug, but check out www.yayasportsworld.blogspot.com
A large percentage of our emphasis goes to Philly Sports.
Otherwise, thoughts on us getting a team in Chester? You think it'll survive?
If the stadium looks as half as good as the visual rendering, then I'd say yes.
